QUEEN’S PARK — MPP Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to news that Toronto’s Don Valley Parkway has flooded for a second time in eight days.
“The government has no climate plan, and Ontarians are the ones paying the price.
The government had decades to prepare for the effects of unsafe weather caused by the climate crisis.
The government’s own reporting has shown that floods like the ones we’ve seen in Toronto are going to become more common as the climate crisis worsens, and the Premier has continued to ignore the evidence at our expense.
The climate crisis isn’t going away. The government needs to invest in climate preparedness to keep Ontarians safe.”
