QUEEN’S PARK — Mike Schreiner released the following statement after the province released sector-specific guidelines for protecting against the spread of COVID-19:
“I want to thank the government for providing guidelines for how workplaces can safely re-open and ensure physical distancing and public health measures.
This is a major adjustment and the government will need to work closely with businesses to ensure they do not bear this burden alone, after facing so much financial hardship already.
This transition will entail new challenges and costs, and we must be there to support small businesses to adjust to this new reality and safely interact with the public.
As we make our workplaces safer in response to COVID-19, we should also take the opportunity to make them greener and more inclusive.
Now is the time for the government to help local businesses transition to a cleaner, safer and healthier way of doing things for the future.”
