QUEEN’S PARK — Mike Schreiner released the following statement about the Government’s rent legislation:
“Small businesses need certainty to get them through this pandemic.
They need assurance the government will have their back through a second wave and finally deliver the rent assistance they need to survive the economic slowdown.
This two-month reprieve is welcome, but small businesses need complete solutions rather than band-aids.
I’m continuing to petition the government to extend the commercial eviction ban to 2021, while extending rental assistance to all small businesses who have been hung out to dry by a rent program that doesn’t work.”
