QUEEN’S PARK — MPP Mike Schreiner released the following statement supporting calls from leaders in housing, farming and more for the government to abandon its attack on Ontario’s farms and greenspaces.
“I’m so inspired to see leaders from across Ontario – in farming, housing, the environment and many more sectors – pushing back against this government’s disastrous attack on good regional planning.
Turbo-charging expensive, low-density sprawl. Eliminating farmland protections. Putting unsustainable pressure on our public infrastructure. Destroying watersheds and soil health. And so much more.
We need to listen to these experts across all sectors, who are calling on the Premier to abandon his proposed land use planning changes and work with local leaders to implement real solutions to the housing crisis.
I will continue pushing this government to put people first and commit to building homes people can actually afford in connected communities where they want to live, work and play.”
