GUELPH — MPP Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to news that housing developers say Ontario’s new affordable housing prices will make it impossible to sell affordable homes without losing money on them.
“We cannot rely on the market alone to meet our affordable housing needs.
The Ford government needs to partner with non-profit and co-operative housing providers to build the hundreds of thousands of affordable homes Ontario needs in order to address poverty and ensure that everyone has a safe place to call home.
This government needs to stop passing the buck, step up and actually get it done for once.”
