GUELPH — Mike Schreiner made the following comment on the recent announcement by Metrolinx:
“Today is a win for the Guelph community and showcases the importance of community engagement and consultation. I want to thank community members who spoke out on this issue.
I welcome the decision by Metrolinx to rule out Margaret Greene Park as a potential site for a future power traction substation. This park is important to the Guelph community and it deserves to be kept intact.
I will continue to advocate for a suitable site to be found for electrification because we need more clean transit for the Kitchener-Waterloo corridor.”
