QUEEN’S PARK — Mike Schreiner released the following statement after it was confirmed that new limits would be placed on social gatherings:
“This move needed to happen to deal with the uptick of infections.
I will always support aggressive public health action to stay ahead of the virus and keep people safe.
I encourage everyone in the affected regions to follow these new rules to prevent the spread of infections.
If the Premier is cracking down on social gatherings, then how can he defend 30 students jammed into a classroom?
The virus doesn’t differentiate between a house party and a classroom.
It is hypocritical for the Premier to mandate smaller dinner parties, while continuing to put our children at risk.
If the Premier is serious about curbing a second wave, he should immediately reduce class sizes to 15 students.”
