QUEEN’S PARK — Mike Schreiner released the following statement after the latest round of one-day strikes was announced by teachers’ unions:
“The Education Minister must stop escalating tensions in the media and focus his attention on getting a fair deal for teachers and students.
Teachers will not sign off on the government’s plan to pull thousands of educators out of schools and replace crucial in-class instruction with e-learning.
This is about defending our world-class public education system against cuts that would harm our kids today and in their future.
It’s up to the Minister now to show that he cares more about students than about cuts.”
