QUEEN’S PARK — Mike Schreiner released the following statement regarding overnight camping:
“With the end of the stay-at-home order today, overnight camping among members of the same family should be allowed.
Ontarians should be able to safely enjoy the outdoors.
It’s important for mental and physical health to get out and get active. And many people don’t have access to a cottage or greenspaces in their own backyards.
If people are able to leave home to travel to a secondary residence, why isn’t the same allowed with safe overnight camping? It doesn’t make sense.
So I’m calling on the Premier to make the logical decision to allow safe overnight camping among members of the same family.”
