QUEEN’S PARK — Mike Schreiner released the following statement about the rotating strikes taking place across Ontario schools all week:
“The government is out of touch with parents, educators and the public on his dispute with teachers and staff.
People are united in their rejection of cuts to education.
Parents understand the issues that education workers are fighting for.
They don’t want their kids jammed in classrooms with fewer education workers, and they don’t trust that the government has students’ best interests at heart.
What I keep hearing from people is that education is an investment that needs funding.
Ontarians will not endorse a plan that worsens the quality of education. It’s that simple.
The Education Minister must come to the table willing to invest in our public education system and protect responsible class sizes.”
