GUELPH – MPP for Guelph Mike Schreiner released the following statement to mark the beginning of Ramadan.
“Tonight at sundown marks the beginning of Ramadan. For the next month, members of the Muslim community around the world will dedicate themselves to reflection, fasting and prayer.
This holy month is deeply rooted in gratitude, humility and perseverance in times of adversity—values that can inspire and motivate us all.
I’d like to wish all members of the Muslim community a happy Ramadan.
As you gather each night for iftar, I hope you can find comfort and joy in the strong bonds of community, family and friendship that we hold in common as Ontarians.
Ramadan Mubarak! May this holy month be as bright as ever.”
