  • The Premier’s housing failures forcing young Ontarians out

GUELPH — MPP Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to new polling showing that 39 percent of Ontarians are considering leaving the province due to high housing costs.

“Housing is the number-one concern for so many Ontarians right now, and the government has let them down – so much so that they’re willing to uproot their lives and leave our province in search of something better.

Ontario can’t afford to keep hemorrhaging young people, and we can’t afford another four years of the Premier’s failures.

We are fighting to bring fairness back to the housing market by building homes people can afford in the communities they know and love, strengthening protections for renters and getting back into the business of affordable housing.

That’s what it’s going to take to solve the housing crisis. If the Premier isn’t willing to act, he needs to get out of the way.”
