QUEEN’S PARK — MPP for Guelph Mike Schreiner released the following statement to mark Remembrance Day.
“On Remembrance Day, I join all Canadians in expressing my heartfelt gratitude to Canada’s veterans and first responders.
It is their service and sacrifice that has laid the foundation for so many of the democratic freedoms we enjoy.
We owe them not only our gratitude, but also our commitment to care for them, their families and all those who are marked by the scars of war.
We must never forget – and I believe that we won’t.
It is our duty not only to honour our veterans and their sacrifices, but to stand in solidarity with them.
To never take for granted our freedoms and their tremendous costs.
To commit ourselves to peace and justice – now and in the future.
To the veterans and first responders of this province and country, thank you.
Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
Today and every day – Lest We Forget.”
