“As someone who’s in the classroom every day, I have seen firsthand the extreme toll that social media is taking on our kids’ learning, socialization and mental wellbeing,” said Matt Richter, a teacher in the Trillium Lakelands District School Board.
“I fully support the efforts of Ontario’s teachers, schools and school boards to limit these harmful impacts so our kids can focus on being kids.”
“The government should be doing more to support our educators in their attempts to protect students and foster a healthier learning environment,” said MPP for Kitchener Centre Aislinn Clancy.
“That includes holding social media giants accountable for the effects that their addiction-causing technologies are having on our kids’ education.”
