QUEEN’S PARK — Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to the Premier’s confirmation that his chief of staff used his personal email and phone to conduct government business.
“Finally, the Premier has said the quiet part out loud – yes, members of his staff use their personal emails and devices to conduct government business.
The reason we have information and privacy rules is to ensure that our governments make transparent decisions that leave them accountable to the people of this province.
This is flagrant disrespect for the people of Ontario, and the chief of staff should be removed from the Premier’s office immediately.
There is no excuse for this kind of shady behaviour in the Premier’s office.”
