  • What’s the price tag on the government’s latest booze blunder?

TORONTO — MPP Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to news that the government will allow grocery stores to order and sell ready-to-drink beverages and large beer pack sizes starting later this week.

“Why is it that this government can always find the time, money and resources to push through their political pet projects, but not housing, healthcare or any of the other things Ontarians desperately need?

If it’s getting coolers into grocery stores or razing Ontario Place, the Premier can make it happen within days. When it’s helping people find a family doctor, funding school repairs or building affordable housing, suddenly it’s not his problem.

Ontarians are tired of this double standard. They want a government that puts people before well-connected insiders, and this is clearly not that government.”
