GUELPH — Ontario MPP for Guelph Mike Schreiner released the following statement calling on the government to take accountability for their Greenbelt scandal.
“It’s been over a week since the Auditor General’s scathing report on the government’s $8.3 Billion Greenbelt scandal, and the premier has failed to hold anyone accountable.
Minister Clark and his chief of staff must answer to the corrupt process that enabled a handful of wealthy, well-connected elite land speculators to cash in $8.3 billion at the expense of everyday Ontarians.
I continue to call for the resignation of Minister Clark and his chief of staff. And for the premier to act on the AG’s recommendation to revisit his broken promise to not develop the Greenbelt.
The people of Ontario deserve accountability for the government’s $8.3 billion Greenbelt scandal and the premier has failed the accountability test.”
