  • Mike Schreiner requests auditor general investigation into Napanee gas plant

GUELPH —MPP Mike Schreiner has written to Ontario’s Auditor General requesting a value for money audit and review of the financial and environmental costs of the government’s recent decision to expand fossil gas investment with a new gas plant in Napanee.

“There is no excuse for spending money to expand expensive, dirty fossil gas plants that put our economic and environmental future in jeopardy,” said Schreiner.

“Ontarians should know the true cost of the Ford government’s recklessness, and I believe that an Auditor General investigation will deliver the honesty they deserve.”

Schreiner’s letter follows a similar request by the Ontario Clean Air Alliance.
