  • Protecting the Paris Galt Moraine is about protecting the health of Ontarians

TORONTO — Mike Schreiner made the following statement on the Paris Galt Moraine:

“If the past two years have taught us anything, it’s that health matters.

And that Ontarians need fresh air to breathe, healthy, local food to eat and clean water to drink.

That’s why it’s vital the government passes my bill: the Paris Galt Moraine Conservation Act.

If passed, the bill would protect drinking water for hundreds of thousands of Ontarians in a region that is expected to add up to 1 million new residents by 2041.

We must protect what we have, which is why I am committed to permanently protecting 25% of Ontario’s land and water by 2025 and 30% by 2030.”
