QUEEN’S PARK — Green Party of Ontario Leader, Mike Schreiner, released the following statement after the Premier’s press conference:
“Frankly, it’s offensive that the Premier is teasing his COVID-19 decisions and telling us to tune in tomorrow for a big announcement.
This is a global pandemic, not a game show.
If health experts are telling us to step-up restrictions in red zones, then let’s act on it now.
Physicians are sounding the alarm that delayed action will lead to more cancelled surgeries and even non-COVID related deaths.
This idea of building up suspense is ridiculous and serves nobody.
The Premier’s dithering has gotten us into trouble in the past and we can ill afford for him to continue sitting on information.
The more we delay a temporary lockdown, the longer and more painful that lockdown will be.”
